ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) Prevention Program
The Whitefish Bay Soccer Club is starting an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) Prevention Program using the Prevent Injury & Enhance Performance (PEP) Program originally developed by the Santa Monica Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Research Foundation. Used throughout the US, including national women’s soccer teams, this prevention program consists of a warm-up, stretching, strengthening, plyometrics, and sport-specific agilities to address potential deficits in the strength and coordination of the stabilizing muscles around the knee joint. The complete program takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and can be performed before practices or by athletes on their own time.
